Discover
the Great Green Way
Great
Green Way Charters helps you discover this most unique of destinations
in North Queensland
We’re
lucky enough, those of us who live in the Great Green Way, to be
able to grow a HUGE variety of orchids from around the world, the
weird and the wonderful, with these flowers both native and introduced
species literally dripping from the trees.
Our
walking tracks, through some of the most rugged and beautiful terrain,
are there waiting to be explored by the adventurous or you can
visit many of the beautiful beach areas where you can lay back
and relax or go fishing or do whatever you want to do.
Enjoy a refreshing
swim at any of our idyllic swimming holes suitable for family and
friends.
Some of the
towns along the Great Green Way include Ingham which has its Tito
Wetlands, Cardwell its Hinchinbrook Island, Tully its Golden Gumboot,
Mission Beach its pristine beaches, Innisfail its Art Deco buildings,
Babinda the Boulders and Mt Bartle Frere (the highest mountain
in Queensland). Gordonvale has the Pyramid, a unique volcano core
that is shaped like the pyramid it is named after and the site
for a yearly foot race to the top and back that is proving more
popular each year.
We could go
on for days describing the sights, sounds and smells of this wonderful
place but would invite you to come and experience it for yourself.
We live with it every day but will never become immune to its diverse
flora and fauna, beautiful weather and friendly atmosphere.
